Nadia Bakir BSc, ND, MSc, is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine and a board licensed Homeopath in Ontario. She is a graduate of University of Toronto (BSc-1985), the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (ND-1989), and the University of Central Lancashire (MSc-UK).
Dr. Bakir has assisted clients in their healthcare since 1989. Her private practice focuses on Homeopathic Medicine, as it is exceptionally effective in getting to the root of the cause, treating the whole person and has little to no contraindications with conventional drugs. Nutrition, Life-Style Counselling, Physical Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine are incorporated as supportive adjunct modalities. Her experience as a mother fosters her ability to manage issues with fertility, pregnancy, childbirth and raising healthy children.
With a passion for sharing knowledge and an extensive experience as an educator, Dr. Bakir is pivotal as a healthcare facilitator. Her teaching career spans 25-years with the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she held the positions: Head of Homeopathy, Associate Professor, Curriculum Advisor and Clinic Supervisor. She designed and participated in research and published homeopathy provings, and clinical cases. An expert in her field, Dr. Bakir, is known for her innovative and motivational teaching style. She was invited to guest lecture at Bastyr University (Washington, USA) and at the National Center for Naturopathic Medicine (Oregon, USA) where she was considered for a Homeopathy Chair position. She was interviewed on both CBC television and CBC radio. She also, guest-lectured for the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT), and the Ontario College of Homeopathic Medicine (OCHM-Toronto).
Focused on providing optimal care for clients, Dr. Bakir has maintained a continuous professional development portfolio. This includes a 2-year residency with Dr. Andre Saine, a 3-year course with the Canadian Academy of Homeopathic Medicine (CAH) designating her a Fellow (FCAH), 3 years of training with the Dynamis School of Homeopathy (Jeremy Sherr) and a 2-year course with Louis Klein, designating her a Master Homeopathic Clinician (MHC). Most recently, she interned in Tanzania, Africa with the Homeopathy for Health in Africa organization (HHA). While on the CCNM faculty she organized advanced clinical training for CCNM interns in India (Mumbai, Delhi, Goa) and in the USA (Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington). Dr. Bakir believes in a comprehensive model of healthcare that is systems-based, integrative and patient-centered.
